The original idea of Linguomusicology: The Music of Words was developed by Lidiya SHAMOVA OKADA, PhD.

Dr. Lidiya Shamova Okada graduated with a B.A. in Slavic Philology from the University of Barcelona, Spain and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics of Spanish language from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In 2020, she defended her PhD in Philology on the topic "Bilingualism in Catalonia - essence and specificity" at Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of her dissertation, which includes Linguistics and Neuroscience, Dr. Shamova had two supervisors - from the Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, Prof. Ivan Kanchev, PhD, and the University of Medicine of Plovdiv, Prof. Delyan Delev, MD, PhD, MHM. 

In 2022, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) selected Dr. Lidiya Shamova Okada to do postdoctoral research at Tokyo College, The University of Tokyo, Japan, with host-researcher Assoc. Prof. Michael Facius. She is currently working on an innovative system for universal basic communication through music, "Linguomusicology: The Music of Words." LMOW is an interdisciplinary research project involving Linguistics and Music. 

Since 2024, Dr. Shamova Okada has been an affiliated member of the European Association of Spanish Professors (AEPE). Her research interests include Bilingualism, Intercultural Communication, Interdisciplinary Sciences (Linguistics, Medicine, Music), the Bilingual Brain, Cultural Heritage and Translation Studies.
